I'd be shocked if I only lived to 78. Much to my wife's dismay, my father's side lives long, long lives. My grandfather was the "young one" to die at 86. The rest of his generation was mid-90's - all were also very active until the end.

32%. This is assuming the rapture does not happen in my life time.

Psshh well obviously! That's why I always preface any long term plans with "Unless the rapture happens before then..."

Example: "Unless the rapture happens before then, we'll be vacationing in Hawaii next summer".

Why would you waste your time thinking about your inevitable death in the first place?

I'm closer to death than birth, and I'm indifferent. That's not a concern to me at all.

Your expected age at death goes up as you get older, btw. Turning 79 would be a pretty sad event otherwise.

It's just dumb. You don't think about shit like that. I asked my mother yesterday if she remembers the cataract surgeries she had over the summer and she said "I try not to remember everything."

Eh what does it matter? I'm fairly certain I could go tomorrow and the world wouldn't give two shits either way.

Life is meant to be lived today not worrying about how much time you have left. Regardless of how long you're expected to live shouldn't you live every day like it's your last because when it comes down to it, tomorrow isn't promised. You could go at any time. Am I worried about it? Not at all, I've lived my life and while I'm still young I'm happy with what I've accomplished not saying that there isn't more I could/will do tomorrow.

Hopefully I will live longer then 78. Since I'm on the lower end of the scale there is a good chance I will live long enough to benefit from new medical tech.

I don't think any thing of it. As far as I'm concerned it's the end result of us all, there's no need to get my panties all up in a bunch over dying. Plus it might be awesome, who knows.
