How does INTERNSHIP for CREDIT work?

My cousin just got an internship offer from the WB marketing department... they say they are FOR CREDIT (no pay) ... when it was brought up, he was apparently totally lost, and his internship advisors are on their summer break. Does he have to take some sort of a class? Or how does it work? What steps did those of you who took this path take?

AFAIK it means he gets school credit for working at WB. he has to work it out with his employer but apparently they are gone.

Where does he go to school?

I did an internship when I went to rutgers for 3 summer credits and I got paid. It is up to the company to decide if they want to pay interns. I just had to have my supervisor fill out a form evaluating my performance and then I had to turn in a 10-15 page paper describing what I did and what I learnt.

It is different for every school.

The only people who can really help you are the guys who are off on summer breaks.

Sorry.
