How does Hydrogen Peroxide work?

It's a very poor antiseptic, but it's good for washing out cuts as it turns to O2 and H2O when it reacts with catalase, and the foaming is cool.

Balance the equation. 2H2O2 -> O2 + 2H2O...no OH

Um... in that equation you have 4Hs on the left and 2 on the right and 4 Os on the left and 3 on the right.

I was just thinking: H2O2 -> 2OH but it seems you are right.
