Still, it's a pretty sharp distinction this year: If you think California is well-run now, vote for Moonbeam, who is really far better than most of the potential Democrat candidates. If you think California is not well-run now, vote for Fiorina as the lesser evil.
Fiorina is running for US Senator... Jerry Brown is running for CA Governor.

If you understand that the Republicans are a huge problem in California while they have the veto power over the budget because of a 2/3 requirement, you choose between voting for the people who are supporting good policies, the Democrats, or the one who are supporting bad policies, the Republicans, and a vote for Whitman is for more problems, starting with her turning California into the only state in the country taxing workers, but not the rich on their passive income, greatly expanding our debt to put more money in the pockets of the rich.

Similarly for the country, you pick the party passing the good policies, the Democrats, or the party blocking them by abusing the filibuster and wanting bad policies.

Ah, my bad. California is far from Tennessee and I have trouble remembering which nuts are running against which flakes. :D

I like Craig's point - if only California could raise taxes, things would be swell! Shame how low taxes have devastated that once great state. I blame Ronald Reagan . . .

Remember boys and girls, blind partisans on BOTH sides of the aisle are the problem.

Its easy to push laws like the Three Strikes Law using the CA Proposition process without actually having to come up with a way to pay for the increased costs of housing the increased prison population.

I'm sorry, but it's the liberal policies (mostly espoused by Democrats) that have driven California into the ground.

You say it's lack of tax income that hurts CA. But it's really the entitlements. It's not possible to tax Californians enough to support all the entitlements. We'd be looking at 60% tax rates, at which point, everyone would need entitlements, meaning the taxes would need to be even higher.

I was referring more to Craig's blind support of all things Democrat rather than the intricacies of the political process in California which I agree are a pain.

Um.....
The state has a 10% income tax plus very high taxes on business. You are looking at +20% just to do business in the state.

Taxes are not the issue.

Sorry, my post was sarcasm, because Craig was once again blaming California's woes on an insufficient tax rate when California continually loses business to states with lower tax rates. Thus to fix California's problems with higher taxes would require California to continue to tax individuals and companies that were once in California but have since left - something other states frown on. Otherwise the state merely runs out more individuals and companies and is continually demanding an ever-larger piece of an ever-smaller pie.

What Craig meant to say was that taxes were too low on anyone making more than him.
