How does Fantasy football / sports work?
How do you play? What is the objective?

Quite popular at work. Clueless on how it works. There seem to be a lot of betting involve with it as well.

Anyone play? Enlighten me. THanks

I think you make a custom team of players, and you get points for how well each individual player does that season based on their statistics.

It is super fun if you watch the games at all, or even if you don't, and are in a decent league.

Essentially you draft a team (with backups) and you accumulate points through the season based on their performance.

Best way to find out is to join a free league on Yahoo or ESPN. Choose an auto-draft league and Yahoo or ESPN will draft your team for you. League options are usually a points accumulation (sp?) league, or a head-to-head league (where you compete against one other team each week and whoever's teams scores the most points gets the W).

Fantasy Football, March Madness Tournament Brackets, etc make watching/following the sport that much more fun, since you have something riding on the outcome (even if it's just pride!). I can't even start the football season without at least one fantasy team! Go give it a shot and find out how much fun it really is.
