How does everyone here get frames per second?

Everyone talks about their Frames per second in games like Far Cry
Well I have Far Cry and I want to know how to measure my FPS along with how to do it in other games as well.........

That "something" a lot of times can be found on the site forumns associated with that particular game.

If you can't do it through the console, maybe you can do it through the .ini file associated with the game. I go into Morrwind's .ini and change Show FPS=0 to Show FPS=1

For Alice and FAKK2 I simply bring up the console and type FPS 1.

fraps is good, but I prefer the console when possible. Go back to fraps1.9 and it's still free.

Try this:

In the game, hit the tilde (~) key to bring up the console and type

\r_displayinfo 1

I don't know anything about Far Cry, but someone asked your question on a Far Cry site and that's the answer they got.

Whenever possible use the game's built-in framerate counter facilities rather than FRAPS. A little research on your part might be necessary.
