How does DVD burning work on a pre-built computer?

I kind of missed the function on my old HP where I could just right-click and save something on a CD.

Then I built a computer for the first time and noticed I had to click on a bunch of things to burn a DVD with Nero. Are the burns on a pre-built computer reliable?

Despite the fact that your last sentence makes no sense at all...

Windows XP can natively burn to CDs, that's why it's so easy to just click and burn. Vista can natively burn DVDs, but XP still cannot and probably never will.

Thanks for the clarification. But, I mean with HP, Compaq, Gateway, Dell or whoever, do you mean people still need to learn how to use Nero to burn DVDs? They can't just right-click?
