The metal is there to react with the hydrogen peroxide that is in Clear Care. The chemical reaction is what creates the bubbles. Eventually, the reaction ends and the solution turns into saline.

Don't put it directly in your eye. My mother-in-law did this and it was not fun (for her.. I thought it was hilarious!).

clear care solution is the best cleaning solution for contact lenses, since you don't have to rub the lenses to clean it afterward.

according to my gf (she's an optometrist) no rub solution isn't 100 percent effective. You should always try to clean them the old fashion way cause there's always a risk of infection, unless you're wearing daily's. Hehe I still dont listen to her...

exactly what I was thinking. She then says it only takes one time...she's a infectious disease/cancer specialist so I guess she's super paranoid. I'll bug her about flossing when I'm done with dental school

hey guys, i found out something. The bubbles in the clear care case don't really go in the caged area where the contacts are. the bubbles just forms around the metal piece on the bottom of the container and fizzes upwards around the cage. If you look closely, some bubbles blocks the cage opening and stays there and the newly generated bubbles from the metal just goes up and around it.... but still, i guess its better than no bubble cleaning at all.
