How does being castrated work?

Just heard on the news a guy who was convicted as a child molester got castrated in order to "free him from future temptation"..but how does one go through it? Is there a special operation..what kind of tools do they use..how do you go to the bathroom afterward..and what happens if you do get aroused??

 

I think they cut (or cauterize) the tubes leading from the testicles to the urethra.

i think that's something else... i'm fairly sure castration involves the removal of the testicles.

castration is removal of the testicles, not removal of the penis. You pee just like before. You shouldn't get aroused: you have no balls and therefore lack the testosterone to do so, hence the reason this guy did it.

You can have a "do it yourself" castration.

Just put a rubber band around "the Boys" and leave it there for awhile. That's one way they do it to livestock.

It wasn't forced - sounds like the child molester wanted to have it done so he wouldn't feel any desire to repeat his crimes.
