How does ASUS WiFi@Home really work?

I'm thinkg of getting ASUS A8V Deluxe with WiFi antenna and card to use my laptop wireless around my home.
In doing so do I need a pc card for my laptop to connect to WiFi?

I'm not sure how well this ASUS WiFi perform, but if you have experience please give suggestion. I'm also thinking about Linksys wireless router and card.

I guess I should've put this in the network section..
