How does AIDS and Cancer HURT? (in terms of felt PHYSICAL pain)

AIDS you die from common cold and stuff because your immune system is f-ed up. In terms of actual physical pain I suspect it's not great? I suppose you just die with cold symptoms?

How about cancer? I had a pastor's son who passed away from bone cancer and he said the pain was so great he would wake up in his sleep...

Purely in terms of pain, how do these actually stack up compared to pain-oriented conditions that REALLY hurt you such as passing a kidney stone or your appendix rupturing?

Uhhhhhh, wtf? Just because it's the common cold doesn't mean they don't die a slow and painful death. It starts off like a cold but then just keeps getting worse and worse because they don't have any defenses against it.

My dad is a colon cancer survivor. I saw him try to cry himself to sleep on several occasions but he was unable to because of the pain. Other than that, I am not sure how I can put pain down in words.
