How does a touch screen monitor work?

I understand it just replaces a keyboard but as far as its setup, what is involved?
Isn't just a monitor where the entire screen is sensitive to touch? Like, if you were to
try to browse a website, the only thing you can do is to click on links.

I assume one would need to align the screen by touching different points on the screen before
you can use it. I remember having to do this on my old PDA.

There is a grid behind the screen that you press pretty much

I read some FAQs from a manufacturer of TS monitors and they all seem to work with any applications. I would just need to create big buttons to push!

WOW ... good job.

so it is just a matter of installing the drivers and off i go. As long as I make the buttons big enough and ppl can push buttons like they would ordering a sandwich from wawa.

I'm gonna be creating a POS system for my workplace. We have 400+ students and the way the food service director goes about tallying ppl's accounts is tedious!
