Your "plain old" GF2 is significantly faster than all 3 of the cards you've mentioned. Although woefully out of date, THIS CHART will give you a rough idea approximately where it stands.

Here's a list of GeForce cards currently on the market (and soon to come out). This may be a little inaccurate, but it's pretty a pretty good generalization. Strongest to weakest, with power level 1-10:

1. GeForce 4 TI 4600 (unreleased) - 10
2. GeForce 4 TI 4400 (unreleased) - 9.5
3. GeForce 4 TI 4200 (unreleased) - 9
4. GeForce 3 TI 500 - 8.5
5. GeForce 3 - 8
6. GeForce 3 TI 200 - 7.8 <---- a GREAT buy!
7. GeForce 2 Ultra - 6.5
8. GeForce 2 Pro 64MB - 5.5
9. GeForce 2 GTS 64MB - 5
10. GeForce 2 GTS 32MB - 4
11. GeForce 2 MX 400 - 3
12. GeForce 2 MX 200 - 0 <--- Don't even bother with the 200.

The Radeon 8500 is almost as powerful as the GF3 TI500.
The GF3 TI200 is a great buy because it's really powerful, but less than $200.
You can find a GF2 Pro for about $70 these days. Check pricewatch.com
The GTS and MX cards are OK right now, but they will be completely obsolete in a few months.
DO NOT buy the MX200, it belongs in a trash can. It's soooooooo slow.

One more thing: Don't get the GeForce 4 MX cards. They are really GeForce 2s.

i dunno if the gts and mx will be obsolete in a few months. it really depends on what games u want to play and at what resolution & settings. i'm sure there are a good number of ppl still running tnt2's and v3's and getting decent enough fps to keep them from shelling out the big bucks (yes... to some of us... $70 is considered big bucks). it all depends what games u play and what settings u can tolerate.

I was using the 32mb GTS until recently.

I switched out of lust and greed. Not necessity... it was doing great

Only if you have a 19"+ monitor and run your games above 1024X768. Keep your geforce 2 gts for a while longer.

I agree with Rudder, unless you feel the need to run extremely high resolutions at full detail on the latest games, the Geforce 2 GTS works just fine. It certainly slaps any MX card, Voodoo, or Radeon 32 MB card out there and is a real bargain at this time. I have standard GTS cards on two of my systems with a Celeron 600@900 and a Celeron 900@1.08 and they work fine for the time being. My Duron 850 system has a Gainward Pro 450 Golden Sample with 64 MB of DDR ram and it doesn't beat out the other systems by a noticeable amount. Eventually (when they get cheaper) I will probably upgrade the GTS systems to the Geforce 3 Ti200, but until then they all are running just fine. (Still planning that upgrade to Athlon XP, but the costs for the new MB, PS, DDR ram, CPU and HSF are a little bit prohibitive at the moment) Faster is better, but paid for is pretty good!
