Money doesn't buy happiness.

It does, however, prevent squalor.

Three nannies for $23,000 a month? Shens. They blew the whole list with that one alone. Each nanny is making almost $7K a month, which is almost $84K a year. That's not nanny money.

I'd love to talk shit about how its all bs and this and that, but damn, if you can get away with spending that kind of money on the kid, why not. The only thing I disagree with is the nanny thing and driver thing. Its not the money spent, its the fact that she should be able to afford to spend time with the kid.

If I was elite rich, I'd spend every moment I could with my kid.

For a man of his income level, that might be too low. I don't know how the law is affected by the fact he lives in France. But child support is based on a formula and then applied to each child support case individually. So I a would assume a person of his wealth is probably making 50 million a year, so 46K a month is not only low, but a bargain. Usually there are only a few things that affect support. One if the non-custodial parent has other children, which he does. And the other has somewhat of leeway with the judge, how much time does the kid spend with the other parent. Both parents incomes come into play, but in this case this doesn't help him all that much. 11K a week for person who is worth a couple billion sounds low.

This is why states need to set a maximum amount for child support.

I think Texas has a $5,000 a month limit.

I'm fine with a parent having to pay child support but it needs to be shown monthly that the payments are going towards the child and not being spent by the other parent on shit himself/herself.

Nanny <> maid. Many are pretty educated.

They aren't full-time employed parents of the child either, especially when you have them working in SHIFTS. I wonder: why isn't the maid listed?

Not all nannies are live-in, so three may be needed for full coverage. They also may be responsible for domestic duties.

This article is better:

Single mom Linda Evangelista hasn't asked for a dime from her 3-year-old son's billionaire father -- but now, she's making up for lost time! According to the N.Y. Post, he 46-year-old supermodel visited Manhattan Family Court on Tuesday to demand $46,000 a month in child support from ex-boyfriend Francois Henri-Pinault.

Pinault, a 49-year-old French luxury-goods CEO, fathered baby Augustin with Evangelista in 2006, as the world learned last month. During his fling with Evangelista, he was temporarily split from then-girlfriend Salma Hayek, 44, who is now his wife and the mother of his 3-year-old daughter Valentina. So it's a sticky situation all around. Still, it's surprising that super-wealthy Pinault hasn't provided any child support to Evangelista.
"He's just been sitting back, paying zero," Evangelista's lawyer told the judge yesterday.
Evangelista's five-figure child support request -- "probably the largest support order in the history of the Family Court," noted the judge -- accounts for a live-in nanny ($80,000 a year) and a team of gun-carrying drivers who are also retired police detectives ($175,000 a year). She also sought $7,500 a month for "vacation" expenses, which the judge rejected -- but he said that the other expenses make sense, in light of Evangelista's demanding work schedule and the child's high-risk position as a billionaire's son.
But Pinault doesn't seem to agree. His lawyers fought Evangelista's demands at the hearing, arguing that she makes enough money to cover her child's expenses.
"She testified that she wants to have a 24-hour nanny because she does not want to be alone with the child," said Pinault's lawyer. "Miss Evangelista, you should understand, has a worth of more than $8 million, and she earned, last year, $1.8 million."
In fact, the model testified that she needs a nanny because she spends so much time working and traveling. "On days when I do not work, I am working on my image," she testified. "I have to hit the gym. I have beauty appointments. I have to work toward my next job and maintaining my image, just like an athlete. When I work, it can be a 16-hour day."
While Evangelista isn't poor, Pinault's family is worth an estimated $11.5 billion -- which makes the child support request seem comparatively reasonable. Besides, he doesn't seem to have any trouble spending money on his other 3-year-old. For daughter Valentina, Pinault purchased a $12 million estate in Los Angeles, which is being held in trust to the tune of $50,000 a month. Kind of takes "playing house" to a whole other level, no?

Ah, now I see how gun laws work in NY. Only the rich and their 'aides' can legally have them because they are such a risk, yet you deny poor frail little grandma's CCW permit. Give me a fucking break.
