i have the opertunity to get rid of my p4 2.4c chip and p4p mobo for a 2800+ xp chip??? is it worth it or should i get a 64 2800+ or should i just keep my p4 2.4c chip and p4p800 mobo???

by the way other than hyper transport speed differences and cache differences between the 2800+ xp and the 64 2800+???

All things being equal I would say the AMD 64 2800+ will be faster than the xp 2800. Love the integrated memory controller, it makes a huge difference + you get the 64bits next year (assuming you will use Windoze Xp64) for free THe value of your 2.4c chip and board is only going to go down. The AMD64 2800 will be faster definitely than your current P4

The A64 2800+ will run all over the AXP 2800+ and the P4 2.4c at stock speeds. The P4c can probably do 3.0GHz or higher if you overclock, though, and would be much closer in performance to the A64 (on a 32-bit OS anyway).

Why are you trading? What app's do you mainly use? Unless you just want a change, there's really no reason to switch from a 2.4C to 2800+ XP. A 2800+ A64 would be faster but not significantly. You can always oc that 2.4C too, should be able to hit 3.0 with decent cooling...
