How does 4.8ghz 4790k compare to avg overclocked 6700k?

OP if ure gaming then ur 4790k is more than enough. U will not notice a difference upgrading one generation of CPU. U WILL notice a difference upgrading ur GPU, which is the most important component when gaming. Ur CPU is still relatively new, I wouldn't touch it for another 3-4 generations at the current rate of CPU development.

I'll keep 4.8 ghz chip and look at buying 2x polaris cards for 4k gaming.

That un78hu9000 tv needs to be tested out.
