Recently completed oc my E6600/D975XBX2 to 3.4Ghz and did some stressing and benchmarking with some success. My ambient (room) temp is 31C and speedfan gives me an idle temp of 43C. TAT at 75% load gives me cores 0 and 1 temps of 51C and 50C respectively. While at TAT 75% speedfan gives cpu temp of 57C. I also tested my chipset heatsinks at idle with a pretty accurate probe and the northbridge reads 48C while the southbridge reads 45C. Could these temps be too high and may be the reason why I am not getting 100% success while stressing and benchmarking?

I subsequently dropped the room temp to 27C (using the airconditioner) and applied TAT at 85% where I got cores 0 and 1 at 50C and 47C respectively while speedfan gave me the cpu at 54C.

How do these temps compare? Would you say they are satisfactory or too high? I have not tried my Doom3 as yet but I can flight sim quite comfortably. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Hi TC91, my s-flex fans are quite quiet. I have the SFF21F which run at 1600rpm, 63.7cfm, and 28db. Actually the loudest thing on my rig is the fan on the 7300GT, a little annoying but plan to get me an 8800GTS 320 soon. How quiet is yours? Hope it's not as noisy.

My 8800gts 320 is pretty quiet. i have the fan set to 80%. My cpu fan is super loud tho and i am considering to get that s-flex fan to replace it. My current panaflo cpu fan does 114cfm but its only a couple degrees cooler than my stock fan (but at least 10x louder) that came with my big typhoon (56cfm; now a case fan).
