How do your eyes get oxygen when you sleep?

Shawn

Lifer
From what my eye doctor told me your eyes get oxygen directly from the air. This is why you should not use contacts for much longer than 2 weeks (they collect deposits and restrict oxygen from flowing through). If this is the case how do your eyes get enough oxygen when you are asleep?

After you fall asleep, your eyes open up to breathe, like a frog going up for air.
