Hello all,

I have a cpl of Maxtor 80 gig SATA drives in my system. These drives are striped. I am going to be getting a new m/b & CPU pretty soon & I wanted to wipe the drives clean & do a fresh install of XP.

I am used to wiping EIDE drives. That's no big deal. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance....... nismo

When you hook the drives up to the new controller, you will have to create a new array. That, coupled with doing a format during the normal course of business installing XP will take care of anything you have on the drive.

Thanks very very much Boomerang.......!

I'm used to formatting EIDE drives the old fashioned way. ( dos type program on a floppy ) And this was/is my first experiance going RAID. It just dawned on me the other day that when I get the new m/b & cpu how could I wipe the system for a new install...?

Thanks for the knowledge............ it's greatly appreciated
