Just go to a yard sale and buy a $5 - $10 iron. Go to your local ski store and buy some all weather / conditions wax. One block of it should last most of a season.
Turn the snowboard upside down, heat iron. Slowly melt wax on iron, dripping it onto the board. You don't need that much wax, so be sparing. Once you have finished dripping, run the iron over the board, until the entire thing is waxed. Wait for it to cool. Once it has finished cooling off scrape off the excess with a piece of plexiglass. Congrats, you have waxed your first snowboard for $15 dollars.
