Whole bunch more ffdshow settings
It's worth taking a look at. The thing to remember is to play around with the settings. Thing to remember is it's not in stone. Once I figured out how to get everything running it took me an hour to figure out which picture I thought looked the best and with what settings.
Example:
ST has the Blur and NR and the Sharpening before the resize. I prefer to have the sharpening after the resize using the unsharpen mask. But thats just me. Also, when using the resize, make sure to use a Parameter that has smooth playback. Just like ST, I had to back off to a parameter of 4 in order to get smooth playback.

yup all the settings are very subjective to YOUR TV / Monitor and YOUR EYES, so you will have to tweak accordingly!
Wizboy, i believe you have the x1900...have you done an A to B comparison of FFDSHOW vs. AVIVO? Just curious how different they look...

Try clicking on the Rig link in sig. I have 2x7900GT's. They were really cheap thanks to the step up, and the voltmod just made it even better . (wait, plus it says in my sig 2 new 7900GT's in SLI, do you need some glasses )
Maby I can try comparing Nvidia Decoder (Purevideo) vs something else. I'm not really sure how to get the side to side screen shots though, or even what program to use to do it. But I'd sure like to test different settings in ffdshow and compare them.
Edit: Also, I find myself changeing some of the settings depending on what type of movie I'm watching. Like if I'm watching some Anime or Animated movie, I find that I increase the sharpening a little bit and have to force Nvidia Decoder to use Video Deinterlacing too.
