How do you wash your car?

So how does everyone else go about washing and cleaning their car? How do you prewash, what products do you use, in what order do you use them, etc.

I use a cheap soap I bought from walmart. Mix it in bucket. Hose down car and take a washing glove (cheapy) over about 1/4 of the car with soapy water, then rinse, then repeat until car is finished. I have an old sponge that I use for the wheels, one at a time, and the tires. When it's all dry I take tire shine and apply it. That's it.

I've waxed twice and doubt I'll do it again. It's too much work without a power buffer.
Pretty easy...I drive to a car wash place and pay to have it done.
You know you have too much money when you're paying somebody to wash your car 😉

Pretty much the same way I do it.

ditto. For the interior, the only thing I do is use an Armour All cloth and wipe down the dash, steering column, vents, trays...basically anywhere that gets dusty.

Depends if I'm ging to wax or not.

If I'm going to wax, I make a solution of dawn and a little bit of bleach to strip away all of the wax. Wash from top to bottom, then bush out my tire cleaner and old toilet brush and give the wheels a scrubbing.

After that, drive down to the gas station and use their air compressor to blow any air out of the cracks.

Drive home, apply the wax (I currently either use Zymol, or NuFinish if I need to wax in direct sunlight), buff it off with a buffer, then go over it by hand with a towel.

I then apply Rain-x twice to the windows, mist them with water, then wipe away.

Go over car again with towel, then apply tire shine to the tires, wipe down all door cracks.

Bust out the vacuum, clean the interior out, wipe down the dash with a damp cloth 🙂

There, done 🙂

Here's my routine...

- Rinse car off
- Wash with soap (meguiars) and water
- Wash rims with soap and water and rim cleaner solution
- Rinse off car and rims
- Wipe car down with Absorber (great to soak up water)
- Spray tires down with Wet & Black (by turtle wax, it's great)
- Apply Meguiars cleaner wax, wait till haze, buff off
- Apply NXT Tech Wax and buff off
- Apply second coat of NXT Tech Wax and buff off
- Clean windows with Invisible Glass (by stoners, works great)
- Clean dash with Armor All cleaning wipes
- Vacuum interior
- Simple Green door sills and engine bay

Use car shampoo with water
Use chennile cotton pad to wash it
Use sponge and soap to wash wheels
Take off attachment and let water run down the car
Use The Absorber to dry car
Armor All on wheels
Wipe down interior + armor all
Vacuum
Windex on inside windows

1. Spray down the vehicle
2. Apply liberal amounts of water and meguiars soap
3. Use scratch Meguiars Scartch Remover
4. Polish with Meguiars Polish
5. Wax with Meguiars Wax
6. use Back to Black Protectant on all plastic and vinyl surfaces.
7. Apply Meguiars Hot Wheels to rims.
8. Apply Meguiars Tire Shine to the tires.

As you can see, I like Meguiars stuff 😀
