How do you wash your baseball cap?

Hey all,
How do you get rid of that nasty' sweat stain in the base ball caps? I've heard of peeps using the dishwasher. Is that safe? or whatabout the washer? detergent?

Dishwasher so it will retain its shape. Of course, I no longer wash my hats.

dishwasher is safe, there are molds that you can buy too, but they flatten any curve you might have in the bill.

You use one of those plastic racks to wash them.

you can wash them in the clothes washer with cold water.
to get the bill to keep a good shape after washing you can put an empty 2 liter pop bottle under the bill and rubber band it in place while it dries. let it air dry.
that is how i do it.

A long piece of leather attached to the Kayak and to the baseball cap. Put Kayak in river and go for a day trip with the cap in tow. At the end of the day take the leather strap off the cap, put cap on head.

Yah, I have used that in the washer. It flattened the bill, but ... in a couple days it wa fine and it didnt smell anymore.

Sundog, you sound like me! You can wash just about anything that way, as long as you can tow it behind a kayak or canoe. Some items, like plates, silverwear are harder to attach, so just leave them in some shallow, faster moving current for a day.

Take a bucket of soapy water. Let it soak for a while. Take it out, wash it off with plain water. Stuff a towel inside and leave it somewhere to dry (the towel will make it keep its shape)

if it gets to nasty to wear i just go buy a new one. shrug they are only $20 if it last 2 years thats good. normaly they last about a year and half.
