nntp: one would have to ask their ISP ;-)
i had to ask mine =S they neglected to mention that information to me when they gave me the info to setup the DSL ;-) but they did tell me how to set up my mail ;-)

i used free agent, i like it better than what outlook express can do, and what that stupid thing communicator has...
i have agent now, and it was well worth the price =) actually, i have several instances of agent (each stored in different folders)... one is for *AHEM* the others are for discussion forums, like comp.*** and junk...

newsgroups or usenet... i use it all the time =)... i don't even irc...
my first paid service came from supernews. then i switched to newsguy. now using airnews.
there were a few months overlap between each.
specifically, i have airnews and newsguy right now. i may not renew the newsguy sub, but their servers are great, albeit slower than what i have from airnews...
my ISP used to have supernews, but now uses some crappy outsourced "newshosting.com" which is SOOOOOOOOOOOO incomplete... i mean, my god, htf can they miss 50% of a multipart most 99% of the time...... imagine some 10 part or 20 part post and the server has 2 parts, or 5 parts...
that's why i had to go with newsguy, and now airnews.
though i still use the ISP's thing when they have complete posts...
actually, i can technically use all 3 services at the same time =) talk about "fast"
;-)
yeah, i pay for it, so what?
