How do you update your T40 (drivers)?

Last time I restored to factory defaults I let the pathetically slow java update manager run forever. I had a problem with it crashing. I beleive it was after I checked all the packages to install, and one of those pacakages crashed on me and brought the entire updating process to a halt. I was wondering if you people are using the update manager or downloading updates individually to update your T40.
