How do you unpack these kinds of RAR files?

I need to unpack a pRo.. I mean video file that I believe is compressed in RAR but the files all end in numbers and WinRAR doesn't recognize it.

How do you unpack them?

do a google for mastersplitter or hjsplit.

haven't seen this in a long time, but before rar became standard, people would just split binaries.

hint: to preview, just download first segment and rename **.001 to **.avi

double click the .001 and make winrar open it - it should recognize it.

I've tried that but it doesn't work.

It says its not a valid RAR file.

The extensions are all numbers and don't end in RAR. I've tried renaming them RAR but that doesn't work either.

hjsplit is awesome. That program works quickly, and easily.

sure you got them all?

One should be labeled rar, the rest numbers

i actually open up winrar, go the directory with all the numbered files (might appears as: *.r00 w/o a *.rar or just *.001), and click 'extract' at the top. then it prompts where i want to save the extracted product and there it goes!

Woohoo!!

You are the man myusername!

Thanks for the help!

I hate all these formats that people use. Between all the image, archive, and parity formats, there needs to be ONE standard not a thousand different ones, which require a separate program for each type. This one the OP talked about took me a good 30-40 minutes to figure what the fvck was going on.

Ya, we should all switch to Windows and IE. That would be so much easier.

Wow, I remember back in the day, when I used to do that to fit SNES ROMs on floppy disks. Roofles 😀
