I used to treat it very well. Clean, detail.... the works. But since I'm renting now, I don't have a driveway to wash it in, so I haven't been keeping it as clean.

I make sure that it is mechanically faultless. Clean is nice, but not necessary. Obsessive-compulsive about mechanical stuff though. I can spot a new "sound" that the car makes well before anything is technically "wrong". I wring it out often too.

Well i hate my current car (12 year old wagon given to me by my mom as a first car), but i keep it running and do alot of engine work just to learn the basic. I never get it cleaned though. I couldnt care less what it looked like . If i was to get a car that i liked (such as a 350z) i would treat it as if it was my child.

I drive an econobox, so I certainly don't obsess over it. If I did, I'd be horrified at the number of door dings it has acquired. I maintain it well mechanically because I want it to last a long time, but I don't baby it.

If and when I own a nicer car, I will certainly take better care of it.

I drive a Rodeo, 2 years old with 50k on it.

I baby it while driving, but its got a few imperfections on it from very low velocity incidents only...

I abuse the crap out of till it dies, then buy a new one.

I generally wash it every 12 weeks, or when I cant see out the windows anymore.....whichever comes first.

I clean out the inside once a year, or when it gets so trashed my wife wont ride in it anymore....whichever comes first.

I change the oil whenever I get around to it, anywhere from 9,000- 15,000 miles.....its been as much as 20,000 between changes.

I clean the junk from the back when I get tired of hearing it rattle, or need to clear out room for more junk....whichever comes first.

Maintence is as follows, if something breaks decide how important it is. If it is something simple that doesnt bother me I leave it broken, if it makes the car not run, or un-safe, I get it fixed.

Each and every one of the dents and scratches on my truck hurt... a lot... but it's 8 years old now and I must accept it.

What is your car? Please say it's a Malibu or something.

My car is a POS. It needs work that I'm not doing to it. My money is going to a new car soon, so my car now isn't really worth much to me. I do keep it clean and shiny though

it was my baby, until some asshole hit it when it was parked on the street outside my house, and drove off without a note or anything.

Now with a large dent in the back quarterpanel on the drivers side...i couldn't care less about it.

It looks a lot like this one, only mine is silver and much dirtier.
