There are 4 events, and one person per event. Local place is having a charity eat off fundraiser. 4 events are hot dogs, hard boiled eggs, ice cream, and jalepenos. Anyways, whats the best way to train for this? Fast for a few days or what?

Drink lots of water for lubrication, but not too much to fill you up.

Then sleep alot because sleep makes you (or me) hungry.

Get a personal EMT is step one.

well each of the 4 people only eats one of the foods

True but after seeing a couple specials about competitive eating on the Discovery Channel, I'm surprised those guys didn't die.

Anyway, drinking a gallon of water seems to be one way of training.

Do this like.. once a day? Just to expand the stomach with something non-volitile and easy to get rid of?

Pretty sure it's once a day. Also keeping it down is part of the training.

I'm just guessing here, but I'm going to say the best training for eating a lot would be.....ummm.....eating a lot.

i've heard of the technique where you drink a gallon of water to stretch the stomach.

my brother used to do that before eating buckets of all you can eat buffalo wings.

eliminate consumption of liquids for a minimum of 12 hours before the contest. Solids are ok, but, when I entered a eating competition I ate nothing but cashews before the contest. I ended up placing a respectable 3rd. The people who placed higher than me had many similar competitions under their belt. This was my first try at it. (56 chicken wings in 10 minutes)

The worse thing you can do is consume liquids. Water expands food in your stomach, giving you the feeling of being full far quicker. Bad bad bad.
