I'd say with a "soldier" using a mouse, keyboard, and monitor to control robotic infantry and vehicles through a first person view. It will be much cheaper and easier to train people. Your "soldiers" aren't limited to only the physically fit. Loss of human life is nil. Its harder to take a robot out of action compareto a real person. The same computer can be used to control different types of infantry and vehicles. The soldier behind the computer can be relieved with ease. Now how to defend against EMP... and recharge the batteries.
EDIT: Forgot to add, the robot can be operated non-stop whereas a person needs to be rested, eat, and sleep.
