Is that another Microsoft conspiracy? The path still works till now. How can MS be so dull to find out and pull the plug?

MS isn't stupid; there are two things they obviously know.

1) Unlike Win9x, XP isn't as easy to "crack", so only the hardcore users will go after it.
2) It's RC1, but there are obviously going to be bugs. Said hardcore users are some of the best testers for that kind of thing.

MS isn't really losing anything right now, and more or less gaining. Why pull the plug?

No, it's not supposed to be free. MS will sell it to you(as a download) for $10 though.

Microsoft has fixed this hole. You can NOT download from conxion bypassing varification any more.

It took M$ near 48 hours to pull the plug.

I'm only wondering why this news hasn't been reported on most sites.

It amazed me how easily accessable the ISO was. And no, I'm not going to post any information on how to get it, nor will I answer PMs about it. I'm just stating that it's extremely easy to get something like this.

Obviously as others have stated MS has nothing to lose by this. There's still many (and obvious) bugs in XP. By default XP Pro comes with the latest nVidia drivers (official) installed, but without OpenGL support for games. So, you download the W2K ones off their website. Install, it works. Click the start menu, the alignment is slightly off for the menus. Something that small drove me back to W2K. XP's interface isn't bad if you revert back to the "Classic" style Start Menu and other options, but some of the bugs really get to me.

<< They want publicity, especially free publicity. It's no >>

THAT is the link for the beta testers, thru a special program they have setup, someone found this exploit and used it and has distribuited it throughout #winxp (effnet) Its not on purpose by MS. But it sure works great :)

I love xp :p
