How do you test for dead pixels?

If you can't see them whats the point, other than to find someting you know will bother you afterwords?
 
I thought you could just check out the LCD when there's no video and then alternatively with an all white background in Windows. Should be pretty obvious.

Check against a white, and black backround, not like they're not easy to miss or anything like that 😉
