How do you test a power supply w/o a motherboard

I just received a 300w HighPower PS for a new system, but I don't have a MB to put in my new case to see if it works.

Is there a way to verify that the PS is in working order now?
 
Plug it in and connect the green wire on the ATX plug to any of the black wires on the ATX plug.

and then once it's on, if you know how, you can take a volt meter and make sure that the right voltages are coming from the right pins etc.
