how do you tell which stepping is your CPU?

As stated...how? Is the stepping printed on the CPU?

There are two ways of telling the stepping.

For Intel CPUs, download either CPUID from Intel or WCPUID from H.Oda. Then match the CPUID numbers given as below:

For Coppermine Pentium III processors:

0681 = cA2
0683 = cB0
0686 = cC0.

The second way (which most people use) is to see the S-Spec printed on the CPU, and then match it up with the Intel QIT table here.
