how do you tell the polarity on case led connectors?

i got it by swapping the led that wasn't working but how would i get it right on the first try? is there some kind of standard color coding? it's not labeled on the headers and the colors used are weird like oranage/white/green etc. unlike black/red which are very easy to tell.

just curious

You'd probably get better responses in General Hardware with this question.

There is no standard, sometimes the LED connector will be marked, sometimes not, sometimes you can make a good guess at the connector polarity, compare to other connectors if there is a common color that could be Ground, no guarentees.

Fact is getting it wrong is not a problem, if it don't work flip it over.

for LED connectors, it really doesnt matter... i think... if it doesnt work, flip it around 😕

not enough voltage will be running thru that thing to do anything, regardless.
