How do you tell if CPU/Mem is overclocked?

how do I tell if a machine's been overclocked?

also, how accurate are temp monitoring progs like asus pc probe?

thanks

First thing is to know what components are in your system, that way you know what you're looking for ie. if you have an Athalon 2400+ then you know it should be running at default 133 ddr fsb and about 1.93mhz to 2ghz. When you first boot the system it should show what chip it is... you will have to know how to read your bios to look for the settings.

WCPUID

CPU-Z

Those will give you plenty of important info to chew on...

Asus Probe for the most part reads pretty accurate, may-b within 3C...

However it is reading the socket temps and not the Diode which is always hotter...(Most read socket)

Try..MBM 5 for temps..

🙂
