How do you tell if a power supply is AMD approved?

I'm looking at a case with this Antec power supply. It is an ATX 2.01 300W power supply. The manufactures website (the link above) does not say anything about being Athlon approved. Does this mean it will no be sufficient to use with a T-bird 1ghz?

Check that link yeah, that will let you know if the case is approved.

AMD state the following power supply requirements:

Duron: Min 145w, Rec 200w
Athlon T/bird: Min 250w, Rec 300w

So you have no power problems there.

That's an excellent powersupply. Output for +12v may not be as high as some of the others, but it's very consistent and reliable. There's a few reviews on it over the Net and they've all been favorable. I've bought about 3 of these powersupplies over the last few years and they've all worked great. This model is AMD approved all the way up to 1ghz, but I think AMD may need to update that info as when the info was posted, the 1 ghz was the fastest available.

Speaking myself, I have this PS running in my main system right now and I haven't experienced any problems with my 1.1ghz T-bird/KT7-Raid.

One week after rolling my new PC, my "generic" 300w CompUSA P.S. smoked like it was cooking a house full of salmon!P.O.S.! Get the ANTEC 300w supply, I believe AMD does certify it and it is very reliable and stable. I think ANTEC now has a 400w available.

Thanks for the help guys! I decided not to get the antec power supply, but I did get a generic Athlon approved one. I'll see what kind of results I get when I stick a t-bird 900 in it :)

Hey, it's funny you mentioned the CompUSA powersupply. Samething happened to me. Worked great for about 2 weeks and then it started giving off noxious fumes. Couldn't keep it running for more than 30 minutes before everyone in the room got sick. What a piece of crap. Naturally, I wasn't able to return the friggin' thing 'cause I bought it in another state and the closest CompUSA was too far. A complete waste of $50.
