How do you tell a uber-geek from a wannabe-geek?

when they both say "damn hoes" one is talking about women, the other one is talking about the broken water cooling system on his pc.

I laughed, but only because the joke was so stupid.

The terms are interchangable, one isnt technically correct, but people know what youre talking about when you say it 😛

They're not interchangable. They're two completely different things.

Can they recite the powers of two up to 1048576?
Do they memorize their Quake 3 CD Key?
Do they use Linux?
Do they know how to erase a hard disk with one command?

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda bs=512 count=1

Bye bye, MBR!

If the above are qualifiers I am in the uber-geek territory on all counts... :Q
