how do you take screenshots of video in wmp?

i tried doing normal print screen, alt print screen of playing video, but no go : \ I just get a black screen in paint.

The problem is that playing video uses your video card's overlay, which bypasses Window's window management.

If you use Media Player, you have to disable hardware acceleration (Tools->Options->Performance). Other players should have similar options. If not, then you can play 2 movies simultaneously. The first will use overlay, the second won't.

Try viewing the movie in another player that has a capture button like WinDVD or PowerDVD.
