How do you take out a chewed up screw holding a heatsink on a slot a athlon?

its a puny screw for a allen wrench to open...the metal was weak and when i tried to screw it off it messed the screw up...i cant screw my heatsink off! help please
 
Options

1. Use a needlenose vise-grip type plier to remove
2. Use a dremel type tool to engrave a notch suitable for a screwdriver
3. <not for the weak of heart> Drill it out and use an extractor kit
4. <kills the HSF> Snip off the retainer and remove HSF. Pliers to remove the remainder.
5. UPGRADE the whole mess.....

 
got it out, jabbed a phillips head screw drive and the screw got stuck on it and started turning, thanks for all ur help guys!
