How do you take a pill?

I very rarely take pills, but when I do, I just throw it in my mouth and swallow.

Edit:
If you have issues, a little bit of yoghurt or something like that might help.

I went about 8 years without swallowing a pill, then had my wisdom teeth removed a month ago and had no problems doing it with water.

Stop thinking about it. When was the last time you thought about swallowing food?

I think the problem is in the fact that people are trained not to swallow food, or anything in their mouth, without chewing it first. It can be hard for some people to overcome that. That's why water helps, because you don't chew water.

You've got a point, but I do know some people complain about a pill being "too big". I have swallowed some nasty/grisly chunks of meat that I couldn't chew very well that were much larger than any pill I've ever taken, so size is irrelevant. The only issue I've had is when the pill is chalky/uncoated, therefore it doesn't slide down the throat well. Still, just don't think about it. Pop it in, take a sip of water, and swallow.

1) Put pill in mouth
2) Take large drink of liquid
3) Swallow forcefully

if above does not help you can crush tablet and pour in liquid.
put tab in ziplock bag and mash with hammer. then pour into liquid.

or you can buy liquid tylenol

It takes some practice to learn to swallow since it's a weird sensation if you're not used to actively doing it.

What I found that helps is to start the pill near the back of the mouth, closer to the throat. So if the pill floats in water, tilt head down slightly and vice versa. Then, when it's sitting there closer to the esophagus, swallow the liquid and hope the pill follows.

Worse case, just chew it and swallow. It'll taste super nasty but sometimes you have no choice if you just can't do it.

if its that hard to swallow crush it under a spoon and eat it with peanut butter.

The chalky taste is too overpowering.

I got it through by the way. I rarely get sick so I guess I really haven't got much 'practise'.

Seriously? 😱 😕

No insult intended but how can you not know this? Place pill in mouth, swallow. Failing that place pill in mouth down it with a glass of liquid. The glass of water is a good idea as otherwise the pill can get stuck 1/2 way down and give you acid reflux.

I know how to swallow the pill, I just can't get myself to down it. Maybe im thinking about it too much.

Anyways, I'm off to bed.
