How do you store your headphones when not in use?

See title. I have Senn HD280pro's which I love, but I feel like laying them haphazardly on my desk is doing them a disservice. Plus, while I'm not that cramped for space, it would be nice to have a little more of it. I also have a tendency toward clumsiness; while I haven't spilled coffee since I've had them, I will at some point - and where they are now, they'd get soaked. What do you people do?

My wife uses Sennheiser HD497 phones with her computer. I just nailed her a hook in the wall by her computer for them to hang on. Works and keeps them out of the way.

I hang my mdr700's on my bed's footboard, just a few inches higher than my female company will swing their legs when... yeah... I have a loft above my bed so it works...

its a good thing hd580 are pretty rugged as they had to endure much abuse on my part... cd3000s recieved some special care when they first arrived but as of now they are being treated just as badly as the senns  i hereby solemnly ask for forgiveness to headphone gods :D

I wrap the wire (not too tight, of course) around mine and put them on the bottom shelf of my desk. Last year at school, they sat on top of my case; the year before, I kept them in one of the drawers of my desk. They're not really great headphones, but they are pretty nice (Panasonic RP-HT1000) so I take good care of them. They've served me very well for about 3 1/2 years now.

I imagine that would hurt and keep them somewhat less-than-clean :Q

I wrap the cord of my Sennheiser HD600s extremely tightly around the headphones and stick them in a drawer. Same w/ Bose triports. My Sennheiser RS85s sit on their base, like a cordless phone.

BTW, I as kidding about wrapping the cord around the headphones, you guys should know that damages the cord!!

I don't want to come off as harsh, but this isn't exactly rocket science. Put them in a drawer, hang them up...it's not hard to figure this out. I'm sure if you use your imagination you can come up with something.

I don't have any space in a drawer anywhere and am a bit reluctant to hang them on a nail, as the pleather material covering the headband seems delicate.

Well that changes everything. I had underestimated the enormity of your problem. Looks like we're going to need a whole team of PhD?s working on this one.

Can you really blame me? You're asking how to put away your headphones. This typically isn't a difficult thing to do. Normally I would simply avoid a thread like this one, but your question struck me as particularly stupid. I'm not trying to threadcrap here, as I'm offering a legitimate solution. I want you to sit down for 5 minutes and really think hard. If, after that time period, you still haven't come up with anything, then come back. But I'm confident in you and your ability to come up with a solution for this problem.

Like Nohr, I've banged a nail in the wall and I hang them on that. It keeps them out of the way.

It's really kinda sad you've got nothing better to do than flame (would like to see you do it to lifers who make posts like "I just took a big crap" or "..."), but I'll try to keep it on low.. I'm asking how others store their headphones, that's about it. Apparently literacy is a bit tough on you, as you still haven't read/answered that pretty basic qustion which doesn't even have any big words in it :disgust:

Mine are usually on the floor, being repetitively run over by the wheels of my chair.
