no particular reason, other than it looks like "coal", and that got me thinking. And then it hit me: all the OT threads with poals end up being like packed shit that slowly decompose and then get new life as fire erupts in the thread.
but I never see it happen, it's just like... it happens over time. And after the fire the threads get locked, and that's when I decide to read them, sometimes poking at the embers.
