Ok after about 3 correct responses I have to wonder why you respond with just the word "pneumonia"

I think you mean pleurisy. It is not the same as pneumonia but it is sometimes a complication of pneumonia. Pleurisy is an irritation or inflamation of the pleural membrane. It can be very painful but not necessarily accompanied by a cough.
