I have a 135" motorized projection screen I'm trying to sell. Was getting ready to post it on eBay tonight, but I decided to do a little shipping research first. The dimensions of the box it will be shipping in is 125" x 5" x 6" The maximum length of a single side for all the standard shipping services is 108"

Is there some (relatively economic) way to ship this silly thing, or am I going to have to try and sell it locally?

Freight. I doubt UPS will send it freight for you. You'll have to make arrangements with one of the freight lines in your area.

Depending on where it's going...it probably won't be cheap.

print a label online, don't put your own address on it. affix it to the package, slip the package onto the car when the mailman is unaware, he will drive it away with him and they will deliver but they will let the receiver know not to send mail that's too long next time.

There is a way to do it. Ever hear this riddle before:

A man wants to get on a bus with a new 5' long hockey stick he just bought. The bus driver tells him the longest object he's allowed to bring on is 4' and that he has to get off the bus. How does he get on and go home?

Answer: He gets a 4'x3' rectangular box, and puts the 5' hockey stick in diagonally. He now has a 4' long box and is allowed to bring it on.

So your solution is to use a little trigonometry. Get a box that's 108" long with a 125" (or 135" depending on which number in the OP is right) diagonal.
