Is Mozilla basically Netscape Navigator?

How do I setup the tabs settings? I can't figure that out, yet.

Theres nothing really to setup, just right click a link and say 'Open as new Tab' (or whatever the exact wording is).

Edit: Apparently clicking the middle mouse button will open the link as a new tab though I've not tried that to confirm.

Is Mozilla basically Netscape Navigator?

The opposite, Netscape is a rebadged Mozilla build.

Both come with very basic tab support built in, if you want you can install a tab browser extension that will give you a lot more options though.

That may have to be set up in Edit > Preferences > Navigator > Tabbed Browsing (I think it defaults to some other action, or no action).

BTW, Nothinman, could you expound a bit on what advantages a plug-in would provide? I'm happy with the "basic" tabbed browsing support of Mozilla 1.4, but if there's something better, I'd like to try it. :)

Multizilla from mozdev.org is a great tab plug in. The tabs are easier to use, look better, have more features, better tab menus, drag and drop tabs, allows "groupmarks" which are bookmarks using more than one tab, start page can have multiple tabs open (dont remember if this is avalible without the plugin or not), you can open and close tabs much quicker. After i install mozilla the first plugin I install is Multizilla once you use it you dont want to go back to the normal tabs.

From the tabbrowser extensions home site:

Extra features of Browser

Extra features of Bookmarks and Histories

Tab Group Mode

You can group several tabs, in the Tab Group Mode.

New tabs opened by link-click or JavaScript are grouped with the original tab automatically. Labels of tab groups are colored automatically, so you can browser several websites parallelly with ease.

Hope this helps.

Edit: Note that the extension slows down the browser a tiny bit, but I like it enough that I use it anyway.

I hate multizilla... it makes the menus HUGE with so many options.

WOAH!! I have been having really really horribly annoying speed problems in firebird for a while now. Every so often I just kill it and start another, and it's faster again. It's never really "fast" though, like people say it is. Well, I saw your comment and uninstalled the tabbrowser extension (which I barely use) and it is WAAAAY faster. I am amazed. Hopefully it doesn't slow down over time like it was before, because it's a ton faster now. :)

The reasone it slows down a lot over time is that, by default, it keeps traks of your last 50 tabs in the memory. I believe, though, that there is a way of disabling this.

File a bugzilla bug if you can reproduce it.

It's not really a bug, as the Extension is designed to do that.
