How do you setup a freaking wireless network?

I'm trying to help my uncle setup his wireless internet and the directions do not help at all. Its a SMC Barricade 2.4GHz 11Mbps Wireless Cable/DSL Broadband Router. The computer with the router can get on the internet but the other computer with the wireless card cannot detect the wireless router and have no idea how to get it to detect the wireless router. What can I do?

Check your services. If in XP, make sure Zero Configuration (sp?) is running.
