How do you set up a computer as a router with the xbox 360?

I'm using my xbox360 with my pc monitor and speakers. I would like to set up the 360 to where I can use my computer as a router for xbox live. 360 support says it is possible but he could not figure it out. My DFI mobo has two ethernet ports. Right I have to disconnect either cable from my dsl modem and plug in the other one to use either machine. I don't want to have to buy a router if I don't have to. Anybody have any luck setting this up? Thanks.
