How do you set the default font size in Word 97?

My Word (Office 97 version) always starts up and defaults to font size 10, but I find that 12 is much better. Can this be changed so everytime word starts a new document, that the font size can be set to 12?

i don't know about word 97, but on word 2000:
format > font > set all the default values you want (font type, size, etc), then click on the default button at the bottom.. that will store the values you just set as the default values. .....

hope it works on 97 as well :)

I believe you need to edit the normal.dot (.dot = document template) and just change the font size there and save it. It's in your Word folder somewhere. Then all new documents created from that template will default to that size.
