How do you set Command Rate on Asus P5B Dlx?

I cannot find a place to set the command rate in the BIOS on the Asus P5B Deluxe. Bios is the latest, 1004. CPU-Z says I am running at 2T. Can I change it to 1T somewhere? I did a couple of searches and found nothing.

TIA!

Not available on P965 chipset motherboards, I believe the 680i and 650i boards are the only ones that offer the 1T command rate. Most DDR2 has a hard time running at 1T and will definately not clock as high with 1T as with 2T in most cases

If you are talking about the RAM frequency multiplier, Asus does it in a funny way. Take the DRAM freq out of auto, and set your RAM type (800 or 667...), when the FSB is at the stock speed. This will set the RAM freq at the stock rating of your RAM. As you increase FSB, the BIOS will reduce this frequency multiplier to keep RAM in limits. 1:1 may be the lowest ratio (at least it is with my E4300), and after that you start to overclock the RAM. At least that is what I observed. with the same MB.

RonAka, thanks for the link. I guess 1T is not an option on current Asus p965 boards.

The latest abit and MSI P965 boards allow selection of 1T. Unfortunately, neither are stable past DDR2-750 at this time. 1T capability has always been a feature of the P965, it will take some time for the BIOS guys to get it stable at DDR2-800 if they open it up on the board.

Nice to know, thanks Gary

It would be sweet to get 1T at DDR2-800, maybe Asus will come out with a bios one day that will support it on the P5B-E:light:

it make more sense if Asus work on newer board for that 1T, like on commando and vista p5b.
