I know I installed DMA mode when I did the Via 4n1 4.29 drivers with W98SE...

My HDD is Maxtor 30gb...under device manader there is no way to check DMA mode on my HDD..there is no check box for DMA like with my cdrom and cdrw

I am running the mAxtor on my Promise controller as an ATA100 drive

Is there a way to check DMA mode???

Do you notice any problem like extreme sluggishness or very low number on test score?
If you don't, don't worry about it.
I don't have the dma check box either on my Maxtor dmp 60 drive.

if the hard drive is on the promise controller DMA is enabled automaticly when windows loads via the promise driver you installed.

Hey, Heng.
Are you running your system on 133mhz fsb?
If you do, is it jumperfree mode?

Some reason, mine doesn't post if I change those.

Don't you have any problem w/ vcore?
I'm getting warning message on Pc Probe, 'it's over threshhold, I'm getting 3.632 on 3.3 default.
Is there any fix?

I'm running 133x7.5 on my tbird 1gig.
Thanks.

the default jumper is set to 3.56

just goto the jumper and set it to 3.3v

i have close the L7 bridge so i dun need to mess around with the vcore

i just set it to auto

Heng.
It stopped giving the warning message.
I changed the jumper to 3.3v and I guess it's fine now.
Thanks again.

Didn't you get DMAtool with the 4-in-1 drivers? Just open that and it'll tell ya if DMA is enabled.
